Job Summary:
Provide software enhancements and support, network support, database support and web, and deliver a copy of all programming code, data and all passwords upon request to applicable government representatives. Create, modify, and test code, forms, and script files. Work from specifications drawn up by software developers or other individuals. Analyzing user needs to develop software solutions. Develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information in support of USAR SIS capabilities. Responsible for troubleshooting, installing, configuring and testing and documenting software and related code, developing plans, preparing reports, and providing functional and technical recommendations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow.
Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems.
Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.
Review and analyze computer printouts and performance indicators to locate code problems, and correct errors by correcting codes.
Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs a computer program is to address.
Read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn how to develop programs that meet staff and user requirements.
Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
Determine computer software or hardware needed to set up or alter system.
Conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct.
Write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment.
Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs, using workflow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.
Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer.
Compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program.
Prepare detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation, and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of SAMS-FM system architecture and automated information system technical and functional operations
Knowledge of Control System-Army, Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), Unclassified but Sensitive Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), and virtual private network (VPN).
Knowledge of telephone networks to include fiber, copper, switches, routers, terminations, inside and outside plant infrastructures.
Must be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (primarily Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Windows graphical user interface) and Data/web based systems required for task area performing work.
Must be able to work under stressful conditions and be physically able to demonstrate the training/support tasks to standard.
Must have the appropriate qualifications, certification, and/or license under the requirements for the task area being performed under this contract prior to commencement of work.
Must able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
Additional Position Information:
HS Diploma required, Advanced Technical Degree preferred Secret Clearance
Requires Five (5) years knowledge and expertise in the software enhancement process, software enhancement using Capability Matrix Model (CMM) or other industry standard and compliance methodology, and management, enhancement, and sustainment of Client/Server and Web architectures

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
